Raila Odinga’s alleged personal doctor faces charges in the Ksh 25 million fake KEMSA tender scandal.
Faith Mwikali Ndiwa denied eight charges of forgery and receiving Ksh25million from a Nigerian national, Jude Olabayo Veracruz by pretending she had gained a tender from KEMSA for the distribution of insecticidal nets.
Appearing before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi on Monday 27th May 2024, Faith is accused of obtaining the said money on various dates between June and December 2022 within Nairobi county.
According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution(ODPP), Faith used her two companies, Ashley Dylan Limited and Faizel Limited to acquire tender number IFT NO GF ATM MAL NFM-19/20-OIT-004 to distribute KEMSA with Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs), which she used to manipulate the foreigner into investing in the tender.
Faith allegedly used her two companies to deceive Veracruz convincing him that he would earn profit after paying Ksh25 million to complete his part of the deal.
She has also faced several other counts of making false documents.
After denying the eight counts of forgery, providing false documents and obtaining money through pretenses, the opposition opposed the release of Faith on bond explaining the police needed to file affidavit articulating reasons to deny the accused bond.
