A US Embassy engineer was killed outside a nightclub in Kiambu after a clash between two groups accusing each other of seducing their women.
35-year-old Anthony Njomo Kiuno succumbed to a gunshot after a fight erupted outside the Quick-in Lounge on Saturday night.
According to court papers, Nason Kiteme and Joseph Njenga are the first and second respondents. They are said to be part of the two groups that were enjoying their evening at the club when the argument began.
The director of Criminal (DCI} investigating officer told the Kiambu law courts, “Nasom Kiteme was at the Quick in Lounge promoting the music of John Njagi with others when a dispute between Joseph Njenga and his team began.
“The fight between the two teams began when the first respondent and the second respondent disagreed about each other accusing one another of seducing their women.”
One of the two groups is said to have been possessing a firearm when the shooting occurred outside the club.
“The fight escalated outside the club where one group which had an armed bouncer shot a reveler who was standing near the fighting zone,” DCI officer explained.
As per the investigations, the shooting victim was not involved in the disturbance.
The suspects will remain in custody for ten more days as the investigations will be ongoing.
Meanwhile, the detectives are still on the hunt for the actual shooter who is still on the run.
The Louge has however made it clear that the footage from the shooting will not be released to the public due to its sensitivity. It was rather viewed in the presence of the deceased family members and the investigating officers.
