The Forward Travellers Sacco has been banned from operating in Nairobi by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
This ban comes shortly after the fatal accident that occurred on May 11, 2024, along Jogoo Road which claimed the lives of three people.
According to reports, NTSA officials are discussing their next steps in response to the directive behind closed doors, indicating a level of confidentiality surrounding their discussions.
The Eastland-based matatus has then left several commuters who depend on the matatus for their affordability stranded.
Many residents have been forced to either work or pay high fare prices to their destinations.
The matatus operates over 600 vehicles and is mostly prominent among the residents of Kayole.
Other Sacco’s passengers can use include; KANI Sacco, Risen, Pin Point Sacco, Prime Trans City, Top Most Sacco, 5 Friends Sacco and Double M.
Forward Travellers Sacco Ltd is a medium size organization registered under the Ministry of Co-operative Development and Marketing on November 2010 to operate an enterprise in the transport industry.
The membership of the society comprises of individuals who own PSV buses and through them ascribes to Forward Sacco for management and operates coordination.
