Gathundu South Member of Parliament, Gabriel Kagombe was apprehended by DCI detectives after being implicated in the murder of a boda boda rider in Thika 11 days ago.
After conducting ballistics on all firearms present at the scene, detectives linked the MP to the weapon responsible for firing the fatal shot, leading to his arrest.
Three days into a police manhunt, Kagombe was apprehended in the Kileleshwa area.
During the initiation of a market construction in Thika, pandemonium broke out between backers of Thika MP Alice Wahome and Kamenu MCA Peter Mburu, while the Kagombe was in attendance.
The clashes resulted in the death of one individual and numerous others sustaining multiple injuries. A 26-year-old named David Nudati was fatally wounded.
Subsequently, DCI officials instructed all individuals carrying firearms during the altercation to hand over their weapons at the Kiambu Road headquarters.
Detectives stated that Kagombe is likely to face murder charges on Monday at the Kiambu Law Courts.
