Endometriosis advocate, Njambi Koikai will be laid to rest at the Lang’ata Cemetery.
Her father shaded light on the decision to lay her to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery, citing family ties and a desire to honor her grandmother’s resting place.
“She will be buried there because her grandmother is buried there, and the family wanted her to be laid to rest close to her. The memorial service will be on Thursday, and more details will come before the burial on Friday at Lang’ata Cemetery,” he stated.
Her battle with endometriosis and her unwavering commitment to her projects have left a lasting impact on many.
Speaking at the Saint Church on June 8, her father conveyed the immense difficulty the family endured throughout.
Commending Njambi’s tenacity and unwavering commitment, he remarked, “Witnessing my daughter’s suffering and the doctors’ efforts was excruciating.” Despite their best efforts, he lamented, “They exhausted all options, but regrettably, she couldn’t be cured.”
Describing Njambi’s character, he fondly recalled, “Njambi was exceptionally diligent. Once she set her mind on something, she dedicated herself to it wholeheartedly, demonstrating remarkable perseverance and diligence.”
Expressing profound grief over his daughter’s untimely passing, he emphasized the unnaturalness of a parent burying their child. “Losing a young child is an immense sorrow,’ he articulated. “It goes against the natural order of life. Parents should not outlive their children; it’s the children who should lay their parents to rest.”
Recalling the emotional toll of witnessing his daughter’s pain and the challenges their family endured, he shared, “It was a tremendous weight to see my daughter suffer. The journey of her going into the hospital and not returning was incredibly difficult, especially for her mother, who remained steadfast by her side.”
Reflecting on the unwavering support Njambi received from her family, he highlighted her mother’s dedication, stating, “Throughout her illness, she never faced it alone. She had the constant presence of her family, particularly her mother, who ensured her every need was attended to, from hospital visits to home care.”
Despite the difficulties, Njambi was fortunate to have a strong support system, with many friends rallying around to help organize her funeral and ensure everything ran smoothly.
“She was truly blessed with numerous friends who willingly came forward to aid in the planning of her funeral,” he noted. “Their selfless contributions are geared towards orchestrating a dignified and seamless farewell.”
Njambi’s father disclosed her final wish, revealing her aspiration for her ongoing projects to persist beyond her.
This desire drove her decision to pursue the Dagoretti North parliamentary seat, as she believed that by winning, she could ensure the continuation of her initiatives, thereby finding fulfillment in the legacy she hoped to leave behind.
