toNarc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has denounced the contentious Finance Bill 2024, urging Kenyans to unite in opposition of the unfair taxation.
Speaking at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi, Karua denounced the bill as a symbol of the “cruel and heartless regime” led by President William Ruto, accusing the administration of prioritizing private gain over the welfare of citizens.
“The proposed budget outlined in the Finance Bill will only make the financial burdens faced by Kenyans even worse. This administration has mismanaged public resources and filled crucial positions with unqualified individuals, showing a blatant disregard for the well-being of our people.”
The veteran politician emphasized the need for the government to demonstrate goodwill towards cushioning Kenyans from economic hardships, rather than imposing punitive measures that further burden the populace.
“I urge all Kenyans to reject this bill and to hold their elected representatives accountable for their actions,” Karua said.
Karua’s call to action comes amidst growing public outcry over the Finance Bill, which aims to increase taxation avenues and expand the government’s budget to a projected Ksh.4 trillion.
