
Popular comedian and activist Erick Omondi is in mourning following the tragic death of his younger brother, Fred Omondi, who was killed in a road accident on Saturday morning.
The loss has left Erick and his family heartbroken, and he has taken to social media to express his grief.
Erick Omondi, renowned for his comedic talent and passionate activism, shared a heartfelt tribute to his brother on his social media platforms. In an emotional post, Erick uploaded a video featuring cherished moments with Fred, captioned with a broken heart emoji and the words:
“My brother, it is not well. God receive you, till next time. Go well, brother.”

The tragic accident that claimed Fred Omondi’s life occurred on Kagundo Road early Saturday morning. A police report filed at Buruburu Police Station details that the incident happened at around 6 am, when the boda-boda Fred was a passenger on collided head-on with a speeding bus near the Caltex Petrol Station. The bus, traveling from Kayole to Nairobi’s Central Business District, was on the correct side of the road, while the boda-boda was reportedly in the wrong lane.
Fred Omondi died instantly from the collision’s impact. The bodaboda rider, whose identity has not been disclosed, suffered severe injuries, including multiple fractures to his legs and arms. He was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital, where he is receiving treatment, while Fred’s body was taken to the same hospital’s morgue.
