Autopsy results revealed that father of the late Jahmby Koikai, Daniel Koikai died as a result of suicide.
The somber revelation came after Mr. Koikai, 65, was discovered in his Tatu City apartment on June 14th, with a fatal wound to his throat, causing excessive bleeding.
According to sources close to the family, Naserian Koikai, Daniel’s daughter, received a troubling message from him early that morning, hinting at distress.
The message read, “AM SORRY IT HAD TO COME TO THIS.”
Prompted by concern, she rushed to his residence, only to find the door locked. Upon entering through a bedroom window, she made the devastating discovery of her father’s lifeless body lying amidst a pool of blood, clutching a knife in his hand.
According to a certain media, pathologist reports from Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home in Nairobi confirmed that Mr. Koikai’s death was a result of severe bleeding from a deep cut to his throat.
The news of his passing on the same day as his daughter’s burial at Lang’ata Cemetery has deepened the shock and sorrow within both the Koikai family and the wider community.
The previous day, he delivered an emotional tribute at his late daughter’s memorial service, acknowledging his shortcomings as a father and asking for her forgiveness. He further revealed the complexities of his relationship with Jahmby, marked by long periods of absence due to his work commitments as a diplomat.
Jahmby Koikai, remembered for her advocacy in menstrual health and love for reggae music, was mourned by many just hours before the tragic events unfolded. The dual loss has left friends, supporters, and relatives grappling with profound grief and disbelief.
