Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is among the notable leaders present for the swearing-in ceremony of President Cyril Ramaphosa in Pretoria today.

The event, held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, marks Ramaphosa’s inauguration as President of South Africa following a fiercely contested election.

Ramaphosa, who secured re-election, is set to lead a coalition government formed by his party, the African National Congress (ANC), after successfully negotiating a partnership.

The coalition government marks a new chapter for South African politics, aiming to address the diverse challenges faced by the nation.

The inauguration, scheduled for today in Pretoria, will feature an array of cultural and military displays, including music performances, a 21-gun salute, and a military flyover.

High-level representatives from countries including Angola, Uganda, Mozambique, China, Egypt, the State of Palestine, and Cuba are expected to attend.
