Kivuti, a respected magistrate at Makadara Law Courts, was fatally shot on June 13, a day meant to be a celebration of her birthday.
“Life has a way of turning things around,” Kivuti’s daughter reflected, her voice trembling with grief.
She shared how she had pleaded with her mother to take a break on her birthday, but Kivuti, dedicated to her work, insisted on fulfilling her judicial duties, planning to celebrate later.
“I told her not to go to work; it’s her birthday, but she declined, insisting we would celebrate on the weekend. She loved her work,”
The daughter recounted, her words painting a poignant picture of their last conversation.
On the fateful day of June 13, Kivuti was presiding over a court case when tragedy struck. An officer involved in the courtroom security opened fire, leading to a fatal confrontation. The tragic event has left an indelible mark on her loved ones and colleagues, emphasizing the perilous nature of serving justice.
Born on June 12, 1978, in Embu, Kivuti was a devout Christian and a dedicated scholar.
