Residents of Kabarnet in Baringo have expressed their frustration by gathering outside the Governor’s Office, voicing their anger over his decision to support the controversial finance bill.

The bill, which has sparked widespread debate, was seen by many locals as detrimental to their economic well-being.

The crowd’s outrage culminated in a physical confrontation, highlighting the deep-seated discontent among the populace.

Many in the community feel betrayed by their governor, who they believe has put political alliances ahead of the needs of his constituents.

“We elected him to represent our interests, not to impose more financial burdens on us,” said one protester.

The finance bill, which includes new taxes and increased levies, is perceived as a direct threat to the livelihoods of many residents, particularly in a region already grappling with economic hardships.

As tensions escalated, calls for accountability and transparency from local government officials have grown louder.

Community leaders are urging for a thorough review of the bill and a more inclusive decision-making process that takes into account the voices of the people.

The incident has also sparked discussions about the need for more robust civic engagement and the importance of holding elected officials accountable to their promises and responsibilities.
