Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, suspected of murdering at least 42 women and dismembering their bodies before dumping them in a quarry in the Kware area of Embakasi South, has accused the police of brutality following his arrest on Monday.

Appearing before the Makadara Law Courts, Khalusha, through his lawyer John Maina Ndegwa, alleged that he was tortured into confessing to the murders and urgently requested medical care.

“My client, as he sits there, is in dire need of urgent medical attention. During his detention, he was subjected to molestation and torture, making the confession that he murdered 42 persons laughable,” Ndegwa argued.

Ndegwa further claimed that Khalusha faced “horrendous inhuman mistreatment” to coerce a confession and pleaded with the court to ensure his client received immediate medical attention even as investigations continued.

However, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) dismissed these allegations of abuse, stating that only one officer was assigned to record Khalusha’s statement.

The DCI requested that Khalusha be detained for 30 days to conclude the murder probe, arguing that if released, he might continue his criminal activities.
