Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has expressed his gratitude to President William Ruto for nominating him once again for the Defence portfolio.
In a post on his X account, Duale highlighted that the renomination signifies the President’s and the Kenyan people’s trust in his ability to enhance national security.
“This nomination reflects the President’s and the Kenyan people’s profound trust and confidence in my ability to advance our nation’s agenda and more particularly the national security of our nation hence contribute to its greatness,” Duale stated.
Duale affirmed his readiness to undergo the vetting process, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and public accountability.
“I am ready and willing to present myself to the relevant National Assembly committee for vetting and public scrutiny,” he added.
Having served as the Defence CS since October 2022 until July this year when President Ruto dissolved his Cabinet, Duale’s renomination is part of a broader reappointment of five other former Cabinet Secretaries.
These include Kithure Kindiki for Interior, Alice Wahome for Public Works, Davis Chirchir for Roads, and Soipan Tuya for Environment.
