The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested Mr. Ismail Kipngeno Koskei, the Head of Land Survey in the Kericho County Government.
Koskei was apprehended after allegedly demanding Kes.200,000 from a member of the public to facilitate a land transaction.
According to EACC, the complainant, whose plot was incorrectly combined with Brooke Market County Council of Kipsigis, had approached the Land Survey office to rectify the error.
Although the plot was separated from Brooke Market, Koskei insisted on a Kes.200,000 bribe to release the new title.
He was arrested in his Kericho office after receiving an initial deposit of Kes.100,000.
Koskei was then taken to the EACC South Rift Regional Offices in Nakuru to record a statement and is currently detained at Nakuru Central Police Station.
The complainant, a resident of Anaibkoi Sub-County, refused to comply with the bribe demands and sought assistance from the EACC.
