Kandara erupted in jubilation on Friday evening as Alice Wahome, nominated for the position of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development Cabinet Secretary, returned to her constituency for a homecoming celebration.
Wahome, who previously served as the MP for Kandara and was re-elected in 2017, was among the six Cabinet Secretaries nominated for reappointment by President William Ruto.
Wahome’s return to Kandara was met with an enthusiastic crowd, eager to celebrate her new role.
In her address, Wahome expressed her gratitude, saying;
“I am most grateful for the second nomination. I want to thank God for the second opportunity to serve the country and then thank President William Ruto for finding it fit to give me a second chance.”
She emphasized her commitment to her new role, noting, “It is a big honor not just a privilege, it’s a big responsibility and I appreciate and commit to deliver on my mandate.”
President Ruto, speaking from State House, highlighted that the first batch of Cabinet nominees, including Wahome, would play a crucial role in driving the urgent and irreversible transformation needed for the country.
