The return of Kipchumba Murkomen to the cabinet has ignited excitement and celebrations among residents of Eldoret and Elgeyo Marakwet counties.
Groups of jubilant youth and other residents took to the streets of Eldoret, dancing and waving placards in support of Murkomen, who has been nominated by President William Ruto as the Cabinet Secretary for Youth and Sports.
Leading the celebrations, Lucy Chepkwony, a local youth leader, praised Murkomen as a dedicated performer, untainted by scandal, and expressed appreciation for President Ruto’s trust in him.
“Murkomen has always been a performer and his track record speaks for itself. We are thrilled that President Ruto has recognized his capabilities and appointed him to this vital position,” Chepkwony said.
The enthusiastic residents called on Murkomen to serve in the cabinet with dedication and to prioritize youth affairs, reflecting the high expectations placed on him by the local community.
Additionally, the residents expressed their support for President Ruto’s inclusive approach to governance, particularly his decision to incorporate opposition figures into the government.
This move, they believe, will foster unity and enhance the administration’s effectiveness in addressing national issues.
