President William Ruto has scheduled an engaging session with Mombasa residents on Sunday evening, aiming to field questions and explain his agenda in a town hall meeting.
The event, announced by the State House, will provide an open platform for Mombasa residents to ask questions freely and for the President to address their concerns directly.
The town hall meeting, considered less formal and more engaging than structured live interviews, aims to win public confidence and support on key issues and policies.
It will be aired live, allowing President Ruto to respond face-to-face to the concerns of Kenyans.
In this session, the President is expected to explain the current situation in the government, particularly his push for a Government of National Unity.
He will also address the ongoing Gen Z protests, outlining his plans to address their demands and quell the unrest.
This town hall meeting is the first open forum since President Ruto named several opposition luminaries to his Cabinet.
He will take this opportunity to explain the importance of including figures like former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, now the Cabinet Secretary for Mining and Blue Economy.
Joho’s appointment has sparked a celebratory mood across the Coast region.
President Ruto will also outline his development agenda for the Coast region, seeking to dispel fears that his administration is unstable following recent protests.
