President William Ruto has nominated Beatrice Askul Moe for the position of East Africa Community and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary.
Moe, a Social Scientist and Consultant with extensive experience in community development, is currently under review by the National Assembly.
She previously held the role of County Executive Committee Member for Water, Irrigation, Agriculture, and Land Reclamation in Turkana County and has been involved with the Rift Valley Water Services Board, AMREF Kenya, and Oxfam Turkana Relief Program.
Head of Public Service Felix Koskei announced that the nomination has been transmitted to the National Assembly for consideration.
If approved, Moe will replace Peninah Malonza, who was not reappointed in the latest cabinet reshuffle.
Moe’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and ongoing studies for a Master’s Degree in Governance and Ethics.
Her expertise in community affairs and various certifications, including training in governance and audit committees, positions her well for the role.
