Police are currently investigating the stabbing death of Constable Nicholas Koech, 30, who was fatally attacked during an altercation at a bar parking lot in Embakasi, Nairobi, on the morning of Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Koech’s body was discovered lying in a pool of blood long after the incident occurred.
The constable was part of a group of revelers attending a Kalenjin Night event at the bar when a commotion erupted in the parking lot.
According to security personnel at the bar, they were notified of the stabbing only minutes after it took place and were unsure about the cause of the altercation.
“The security team informed us that they did not know what triggered the fight and subsequent stabbing,” a police source said.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed that Koech was a member of the police force attached to Jogoo House.
The perpetrators of the attack have yet to be apprehended, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
The body of Constable Koech has been transported to the mortuary for an autopsy, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
