A humorous mix-up occurred during a recent church service led by Pastor James Ng’ang’a, who mistakenly identified a young man in the congregation as well-known activist Kasmuel McOure.
The incident, captured in an undated video, shows the evangelist pausing in confusion as he noticed the striking resemblance between the churchgoer and McOure.
The young man had approached the dais to discuss a persistent back problem with the pastor.
However, instead of addressing the ailment, Pastor Ng’ang’a’s attention was immediately drawn to the uncanny likeness, leading him to repeatedly question whether the young man was indeed the activist.
“You are not that one, right? The one named…?” Ng’ang’a asked, his curiosity piqued.
Despite the young man’s insistence that he was not Kasmuel, the pastor remained doubtful, prompting laughter from the congregation as he continued his line of questioning.
As Pastor Ng’ang’a struggled to recall McOure’s name, the young man stood on stage, visibly bewildered.
Eventually, the pastor remembered, exclaiming, “Hehe, Samuel, right? Ka…Kasmuel? You are not Kasmuel?”
Once more, the young man denied the connection, prompting more laughter from those in attendance.
Pastor Ng’ang’a finally conceded, commenting, “So this isn’t Kasmuel! Kasmuel is the one I heard talking about some school issue, something about kids going for lunch on Saturdays? I heard him recently.”
The light-hearted exchange provided a moment of levity for the congregation before the conversation returned to the young man’s health concerns.
He explained that the medication he had been taking had not relieved his back pain, shifting the focus back to his original reason for approaching the pastor.
