Goliath Otesa, known as “Bungoma Goliath,” shared his difficult journey when he traveled to Nairobi with hopes of meeting his brother, Bradley Marongo, popularly known as the “Gen Z Goliath.”
Otesa, who stands at 8.4 feet tall, made this journey in search of better opportunities and recognition, especially after seeing the success Bradley had garnered during the protests against the Finance Bill, which brought him attention and brand deals.
However, Otesa’s time in Nairobi did not turn out as he had hoped.
Despite getting some new clothes and shoes, his expectations of meeting Bradley or achieving similar recognition fell short.
In fact, his life in the city turned out to be quite challenging, with hunger being a constant issue, leading him to remark, “Njaa Ingenimaliza Nairobi” (Hunger could have finished me in Nairobi).
He eventually left the city after failing to meet his brother and returned to Bungoma, with many observers noting that the only significant change was his attire, not his fortunes.
