President William Ruto addressed a gathering in Nakuru amid the ongoing political turmoil surrounding Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment.

While he avoided directly mentioning the impeachment, Ruto focused on his administration’s priorities, urging Kenyans to stay united and support his government in its transformation agenda.

He emphasized the need for prayer and commitment to achieve significant reforms in the healthcare system, affordable housing, and environmental protection.

His remarks came at a time of heightened tension, as Gachagua’s impeachment was recently approved by the Senate.

Despite the pressure to comment on Gachagua’s removal, Ruto remained silent on the issue, maintaining a cautious distance from the political controversy.

Observers noted that the president’s absence from joint events with Gachagua in recent weeks fueled speculation about the state of their relationship.

Gachagua, who has accused the president of being behind his impeachment, has vowed to challenge the decision in court.

This impeachment marked a significant moment in Kenya’s political landscape, as Gachagua was accused of undermining key institutions and violating constitutional principles.

Ruto’s speech also touched on his vision for Kenya’s future, highlighting achievements like the Universal Health Coverage program, which has registered millions of citizens.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building an inclusive society, where no one is left behind in accessing essential services.

With political uncertainty looming, the president’s focus on national development seemed aimed at reassuring the public of his leadership during this challenging period.
