Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) following his recent allegations of an assassination plot against him, purportedly orchestrated by President William Ruto and the National Intelligence Service.
Despite the summons, Mr. Gachagua did not appear at the DCI headquarters as scheduled.
In response to the DCI’s actions, Mr. Gachagua addressed residents in Nyandarua County, expressing his concerns and rallying support.
He has also claimed that his security detail was withdrawn following his impeachment, leading him to enlist the protection of volunteers, including former military and police officers, to guard his residences in Nairobi and Mathira.
These developments have intensified the political tension between Mr. Gachagua and President Ruto’s administration, raising questions about the stability of the current political landscape in Kenya.
