The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024 results were officially released on January 9, 2025, by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba.

A record 965,501 candidates sat for the exams across 10,755 centres, marking an increase from the previous year’s 903,138 candidates.

The marking process concluded on December 13, 2024, with examiners working diligently across 35 designated centres.

In Kirinyaga County, a concerning incident occurred where a candidate reportedly assaulted his father after being asked about his KCSE exam results.

This incident underscores the complex dynamics between students and their parents regarding academic performance.

Similar cases have been reported in Kenya, highlighting the need for open communication and supportive relationships between parents and children concerning education.

As students and parents navigate the release of the KCSE results, it’s crucial to foster an environment of understanding and support.

Open dialogue can help manage expectations and reduce the likelihood of negative reactions.

Parents are encouraged to provide support and encouragement, fostering an environment where children feel comfortable sharing their academic experiences and challenges.

For those seeking to access the 2024 KCSE results, candidates can visit the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal at https://results.knec.ac.ke/.

They will need to enter their 11-digit index number and their name as registered for the KCSE examination. For assistance, KNEC can be reached through the toll-free numbers 0800724900 or 0800721410.

In conclusion, while the specific incident in Kirinyaga County remains unverified, similar cases in Kenya emphasize the importance of healthy communication between parents and children concerning education.

Such interactions are vital for the well-being of students and the nurturing of a positive academic environment.
