In Chesikaki, Bungoma County, a tragic incident has unfolded where a father allegedly beat his daughter to death following a disagreement over an unspecified family matter.

The 41-year-old man, identified as Maurice Toto, reportedly attacked his 23-year-old daughter, Esther Nasimiyu, on Thursday night.

Her lifeless body was discovered in her room the following day, bearing multiple injuries inflicted by a blunt object.

This heartbreaking event has cast a somber mood over the Chesikaki community, highlighting the devastating consequences of domestic violence.

Area Chief Morris Wetala has urged parents to adopt non-violent methods of discipline, emphasizing the importance of open communication and understanding within families.

The father is currently in police custody at Chesikaki Police Station, awaiting arraignment.

Meanwhile, Esther’s body has been moved to Sante Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

This incident is a stark reminder of the need for societal change in addressing conflicts within families.

It underscores the importance of seeking peaceful resolutions and the dangers of resorting to physical violence.

As the community mourns the loss of a young life, there is a collective call for increased awareness and education on the impacts of domestic violence, aiming to prevent such tragedies in the future.
