Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of Nairobi and Nakuru counties on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
The planned outages will allow for routine maintenance and are expected to last between eight and nine hours.
The power utility firm issued an apology for any inconvenience the maintenance may cause and advised residents in the affected areas to make necessary preparations.
“The listed areas will experience planned power interruptions tomorrow (January 12, 2025). We regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding during the maintenance period,” Kenya Power stated.
Areas Scheduled for Power Interruptions on January 12, 2025
Nairobi County
In Nairobi, several estates and business premises will be affected, including:
- Parts of Dandora Estate (from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm): Ngumuyu Primary School, sections of Lucky Summer, Ngomongo, Tiba Primary School, Dandora dumpsite, Cooperative Bank, Dandora Phases 2, 3, and 4, Uprising, and surrounding areas.
- Baba Dogo Area (from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm): Lyons Maid, Pepsi, Rasco, Aztec Investment Limited, Dawanol, Kiwi Brands, Regal P., Baba Dogo Road, Impala, Premier Food, Dogra, EBZ, Chandaria, Cussions, Jubilee Tissue, Kenya Seed, Ganatra, Police Logistics, Golden Mile Park, and their neighbouring establishments.
Nakuru County
In Nakuru, parts of the Central Business District (CBD) will be affected, including:
- Nakuru CBD (from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm): Merica Hotel, Kenyatta Avenue, parts of Nakuru Town, Naivas Supermarkets, CK Patel, Woolmatt Supermarkets, Top Market, Cleanshelf Supermarket, Kanini Market, Gilani Supermarket, Biashara Centre, Avenue Suites Hotel, Club Lane, and nearby businesses and residences.
Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to plan accordingly for the day-long outages. KPLC has assured the public that the maintenance is necessary to ensure better service delivery and reliable electricity supply in the future.
