Deputy President Kithure Kindiki recently made a notable visit to Embu County, where he participated in the Boda Boda Summit organized by Governor Cecily Mbarire.
The event aimed to address challenges faced by motorcycle taxi operators and promote safer road practices.
In a show of solidarity, DP Kindiki rode into the event on a boda boda, symbolizing his support for the riders.
During the summit, DP Kindiki announced a significant boost for the boda boda sector in Embu County.
He pledged Ksh 6.5 million to support the riders, emphasizing the government’s commitment to improving their livelihoods and ensuring safer operations on the roads.
The Deputy President also addressed the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and the need for nationwide enforcement to reduce road accidents.
He highlighted the alarming number of lives lost due to road carnage and reiterated the government’s resolve to implement strict measures against unroadworthy vehicles and reckless driving.
