Chaos as Headteacher Storms Class, Assaults Teacher in Nyamira School
A teacher from Nyamira County is recovering in the hospital after being brutally attacked by his school’s headteacher inside the classroom.
The shocking incident has sparked outrage, with the victim, Vincent Onyancha, calling for action against the school head.
Teacher Recounts the Harrowing Attack
Onyancha narrated the painful ordeal, explaining that the incident happened after he arrived at school slightly late.
Despite going straight to class to begin his lessons, he was confronted by the headteacher, who immediately launched a violent attack.
“On Friday, February 21, I reported to work a little late. I went straight to my class and started teaching.
While I was in the middle of my lesson, the headteacher stormed in and began assaulting me. He slapped me multiple times and rained blows on me,” Onyancha painfully recalled.
The situation escalated further when the headteacher dragged him out of the classroom and into his office, where the assault continued.
“He pulled me into his office, threw me to the ground, and continued punching and kicking me mercilessly. I suffered severe injuries and had to be rushed to the hospital, where I was later admitted,” he added.
Teacher Suffers Serious Injuries
As a result of the attack, Onyancha sustained multiple injuries, including severe damage to his left eardrum, injuries in the groin area, and other bodily harm.
Deeply disturbed by the incident, he has now called upon the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), and human rights organizations to intervene and take swift action against the headteacher.
“I urge the TSC, KUPPET, and human rights groups to look into this matter and ensure that justice is served,” he pleaded.
Headteacher Yet to Respond
Despite the serious accusations, the headteacher at Nyanchoka Primary School has not yet made any public statement regarding the incident.
Authorities and stakeholders in the education sector are now under pressure to address the matter and ensure that appropriate measures are taken.
