Speeding Vehicle in President Ruto’s Motorcade Kills Foreigner on Ngong Road
A tragic incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when a speeding vehicle in President William Ruto’s motorcade ran over a foreign pedestrian along Ngong Road near the Adams Arcade area, killing him instantly. The identity and nationality of the deceased are yet to be established.
According to eyewitness reports, the middle-aged man was attempting to cross the busy road when he was struck by one of the fast-moving vehicles in the presidential convoy.
At the time of the accident, Ruto’s motorcade was traveling from Lang’ata to Kibra for the commissioning of a development project.
The accident quickly drew the attention of other road users and passersby, who rushed to the scene in an attempt to assist the victim. Unfortunately, upon arrival, they discovered that the man had already succumbed to his injuries.
Disturbing videos and images that surfaced on social media showed a crowd gathering around the body before it was eventually covered with a piece of cloth.
Witnesses at the scene expressed their shock and concern, revealing that despite the tragic accident, President Ruto’s convoy did not stop.
This raised serious questions about the safety measures in place during the Head of State’s movements and the protocol followed in such incidents.
Shortly after the accident, a police vehicle arrived, cordoned off the area, and later transported the victim’s body to the Nairobi City Mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted.
Authorities have since launched investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident and whether negligence played a role.
Ruto’s Nairobi Tour Faces Heavy Criticism
This fatal incident adds to the growing concerns surrounding President Ruto’s recent development tours in Nairobi, which have been marred by a series of controversial events.
On Wednesday, reports emerged of widespread muggings and vandalism targeting pedestrians and shop owners in Mathare during the president’s visit.
Residents raised concerns about rising insecurity, with some blaming the chaos on rogue elements who took advantage of the large gatherings.
Similarly, on Tuesday, commuters and residents along Thika Superhighway were attacked and robbed by groups of rowdy youths who had attended the president’s rally.
Victims of the attacks reported losing their belongings, including mobile phones and wallets, as the situation spiraled out of control.
Following public outrage, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) launched an operation, leading to the arrest of five suspects linked to the Thika Road robberies.
According to the DCI, those arrested have already been processed in court, while investigations are still ongoing to track down more individuals involved in the incidents.
The growing concerns over security and safety during President Ruto’s public engagements continue to spark debate, with Kenyans demanding better measures to protect both citizens and visitors during such events.
