Police Arrest Ruiru Pastor Accused of Sodomy Against TukTuk Driver
Police officers in Nairobi have arrested a controversial preacher from Christ Impact Church, identified as Peter K, who had been on the run since 2022 after being accused of sodomizing a TukTuk driver.
Nakuru East Police Commander, Sheila Kegode, confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect will remain in custody as investigations continue before he is formally charged in court.
The preacher had been evading arrest for more than two years despite being on the police radar in Nakuru. His church recently came under attack from angry members of the public, who stormed the premises two weeks ago, accusing him of engaging in indecent acts.
His arrest was prompted by renewed pressure from the family of one of his alleged victims, which led to a warrant being issued against him.
Police officers tracked him down in Nairobi, where he was arrested alongside an associate before being transferred to Nakuru Police Station for further processing.
Victim’s Account of the Alleged Incident
According to the victim, who was working as a TukTuk driver in Nakuru at the time, Peter K approached him, requesting transportation to an event. During the journey, the preacher allegedly convinced him to stop for drinks.
After a night of heavy drinking, the driver woke up inside a vehicle with sharp pain, only to realize that he had been sexually assaulted. He later reported the incident at Nakuru Central Police Station in May 2022, where a medical examination confirmed physical trauma in his anal region.
Despite filing the complaint, the victim claimed his efforts to seek justice were delayed, as authorities took little action against the suspect, who managed to stay in hiding for years.
Public Outrage Against the Preacher
On March 2, growing anger over the allegations led to a massive protest in Ruiru, where hundreds of outraged youth and residents stormed Christ Impact Church. The protesters accused Peter K of preying on young boys and demanded his immediate arrest.
A large crowd gathered outside the church, with some individuals threatening to demolish the building if the pastor did not surrender.
Photos and videos obtained by newshub.co.ke captured chaotic scenes as furious residents tore down sections of the church, insisting that the preacher should not be allowed to operate within their community.
With his arrest, authorities now face pressure to ensure the victims receive justice, as more people continue to raise concerns over the preacher’s alleged criminal activities.
