On Friday night, top leaders from different levels of government—including the Senate, National Assembly, Cabinet, and county governments—were honored for their exceptional performance in public service.
The prestigious Politrack Africa Star Leaders Awards recognized various leaders for their dedication and service to the nation.
Among the notable winners was Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who emerged as the Best Member of Parliament (MP), securing the top spot among all MPs in Kenya.
Mavoko MP Patrick Makau ranked third, while Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, secured the fourth position in Nairobi and the 17th spot nationwide.
Expressing his gratitude for the recognition, Jalang’o acknowledged that there was still room for improvement, vowing to work harder for an even higher ranking next time.
“Last night at the 2025 Politrack Star Leaders Gala Night, we were honored among the best-performing MPs. Ranked fourth in Nairobi and 17th in the country—not where we want to be yet, but it’s a step in the right direction. Pole pole tutafika (slowly but surely, we will get there),” Jalang’o wrote in a tweet.
Newly appointed Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Geofrey Ruku also received an award, being recognized as the fourth-best MP for his performance before transitioning to his current role in the Cabinet.
Other MPs who received recognition included Eldas MP Adan Keynan, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, and Matungulu MP Stephen Mule.
