Police in Migori County are investigating a tragic incident in which a 37-year-old man lost his life following a violent altercation with another man at a woman’s house.

The deadly confrontation is believed to have been triggered by a suspected love triangle involving a married woman.

Two Men Clash Over a Woman

The unfortunate incident occurred in North East Kadem, Nyatike sub-county, when two men, unknowingly involved with the same woman, unexpectedly crossed paths at her home.

The meeting quickly escalated into a heated argument, leading to a brutal fight on the night of Sunday, March 31.

According to North East Kadem location chief, Voshastar Akal, the deceased, identified as Kevin Ouma, suffered fatal panga (machete) injuries during the altercation.

His rival, Johnson Ochieng, was also severely wounded in the fight and is currently receiving treatment at Migori Level Four Hospital.

How the Deadly Confrontation Unfolded

Chief Akal revealed that Kevin Ouma had gone to the woman’s house for a date when the unexpected happened.

A few hours later, Johnson Ochieng also arrived at the house, unaware that another man was already inside.

This unexpected encounter quickly turned into a violent clash between the two men, resulting in severe injuries.

“The two men unknowingly found themselves in the same woman’s house, and a fight broke out. Unfortunately, one of them died from the injuries, while the other is nursing serious wounds in the hospital,” Akal stated.

Angry Family Burns Down Woman’s House

In the wake of the tragic incident, tensions escalated further when the deceased’s family, angered by the circumstances surrounding his death, stormed the woman’s house and set it on fire.

The woman, aged 35, managed to flee with her children and has since gone into hiding.

Reports indicate that the woman is married, but her husband works outside Migori County and was not present at the time of the incident.

Police have since launched investigations into the matter to establish the full details of what transpired.

The body of Kevin Ouma has been taken to Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigations.

Similar Tragic Incident in Bomet

In a separate heartbreaking case, a woman in Bomet County was brutally murdered inside her home. Her lifeless body was discovered lying in a pool of blood, with initial reports suggesting that she may have been killed while her children were asleep.

The gruesome discovery was made by her daughter, who woke up in the morning to prepare for school, only to find her mother’s lifeless body.

Authorities believe the murder could be linked to another love triangle, and investigations into the case are ongoing.

These tragic incidents highlight the deadly consequences of love-related conflicts, as families mourn the loss of their loved ones while authorities work to bring those responsible to justice.
