EACC Detectives Raid Kiambu Governor Wamatangi’s Office and Home
Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on the morning of Tuesday, April 15, carried out a raid on the office and home of Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi.
The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption within the county government.
In addition to the Governor, the detectives also searched the homes and offices of nine other high-ranking officials from the Kiambu County administration.
These officials are suspected of being involved in embezzling public funds and engaging in activities that present a conflict of interest.
Reports indicate that the Governor and the nine senior officials have been under close scrutiny for some time, with investigators probing alleged cases of financial mismanagement and misuse of county resources.
The raid was aimed at gathering crucial evidence that may support the corruption allegations against them.
The EACC is believed to be focusing on irregular procurement deals, suspicious financial transactions, and personal gains linked to county funds.
According to sources close to the investigation, several documents and electronic devices were seized during the operation for further analysis.
The development has sparked fresh concerns about accountability in county governments, especially in light of the growing number of corruption cases reported across the country.
Kenyans are now waiting to see whether the findings from the raid will lead to charges and prosecutions against those involved.
