Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has come out strongly to deny claims that he received Ksh40 million from the State House or any government officials, including State House Comptroller Katoo Ole Metito.
Speaking on Saturday, May 10, Salasya firmly stated that he is not aligned with any government agenda and is not benefiting from any political funding.
“I want to make this very clear for everyone: I am not a UDA project. I am not being funded by State House.
I have never received even a single coin—let alone Ksh40 million—from Katoo Ole Metito or any other government official. Let’s put this matter to rest,” Salasya declared.
The legislator dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated, accusing his opponents of trying to destroy his reputation out of fear.
According to Salasya, the rumors are being spread by individuals who are worried about the growing influence of his political movement.
“These are just cheap and lazy lies being spread by cowards who are scared of the kind of political force I am building across the country.
They know they can’t stop the energy, the boldness, or the connection I have with the people—so they resort to spreading falsehoods,” he said.
Addressing concerns about his source of income and political activities, Salasya defended his transparency by pointing out that he had made his payslip public for everyone to see.
“Yes, I did share my payslip. I have nothing to hide. I earn the same salary as every other Member of Parliament. But the difference is, I am not obsessed with wealth.
I am here to serve my people. What you’re seeing is not the power of money—it is the power of a well-thought-out strategy, natural charisma, and the strong support I get from ordinary Kenyans who believe in the vision I represent,” Salasya emphasized.
He went on to speak about the management of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Mumias East, making it clear that not a single shilling has been misused. He assured the public that all funds are used transparently and can be accounted for.
“I want to state without fear that every single cent from the CDF in Mumias East is accounted for. We have not wasted or stolen anything.
Our development projects are out there for everyone to see. They are real, they are changing lives. Go ask the students, the school heads, the patients in hospitals, and the parents in the community. We are working hard and delivering results, not stealing,” he explained.
Salasya also responded to critics questioning how he is able to travel across the country so frequently. He insisted that his outreach is not funded by the government but by the people who believe in his mission.
“To those who are secretly wondering how I manage to travel nationwide, let me tell you this—I am not your typical politician.
I am someone chosen by the people. I am on a mission. I am backed by patriotic Kenyans who want real change and not a continuation of corruption and cartels,” he said confidently.
Earlier, on April 28, Salasya announced via his social media pages that he had made the decision to run for the presidency in the next general election.
He explained that this decision came after a lot of personal reflection, discussions with various stakeholders, and a clear understanding of the challenges facing the country.
“My decision to vie for the presidency was not made overnight. It is the result of deep thought, wide consultation, and serious concern about the state of our nation. I believe I can be part of the solution Kenya needs,” he stated in his post.
Salasya’s bold response aims to shut down rumors and strengthen his image as a people-centered leader focused on transparency, service delivery, and national unity.
