Autopsy Reveals Truth Behind Albert Ojwang’s Mysterious Death
The mystery surrounding the death of popular X influencer and teacher Albert Ojwang is slowly being unraveled.
According to an autopsy conducted by Pathologist Bernard Midia on Tuesday, June 10, Ojwang’s body showed injuries that strongly suggest he was assaulted by another person, not harmed by himself as previously claimed.
The postmortem, carried out at the Nairobi Funeral Home, came after 24 hours of heavy speculation over how Ojwang lost his life. Midia stated that the injuries found on Ojwang’s body, especially those on the head and other external parts, contradicted the earlier police report.
The police had claimed Ojwang had injured himself by hitting his head on a cell wall after being detained at the Central Police Station.
“When you assess all the injuries together, it is clear there was a physical struggle,” Midia explained. “There are signs across his body that indicate he was involved in a confrontation. These are fully detailed in the report.”
Interestingly, the autopsy had originally been scheduled for Monday, June 9, but was postponed after government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor withdrew from the case.
Oduor cited a conflict of interest, revealing that he was a relative of the deceased. This led to Bernard Midia stepping in to conduct the examination instead.
Before the autopsy results were released, Ojwang’s family lawyer spoke to the press, giving a preview of the state of his body.
The lawyer mentioned that Ojwang had marks on his back and hands that looked like defensive wounds—suggesting he tried to fight off an attacker. These injuries added to growing doubts about the police narrative.
The family’s claims, combined with Midia’s findings, now cast serious suspicion on what really happened to Ojwang while he was in police custody. It raises the possibility that he may have been physically harmed by someone else, possibly while in detention.
On Monday, even before the autopsy took place, a wave of public outrage was growing. Human rights activists and supporters gathered at City Mortuary in protest.
They demanded answers, accountability, and permission to view Ojwang’s body, showing that the public was not ready to accept the official explanation without question.
The autopsy findings have now fueled those demands for justice. With evidence pointing to third-party involvement and possible foul play, Ojwang’s family and supporters continue to push for a transparent and thorough investigation into what exactly happened to him while in police custody.
