KWS to Auction Vehicles and Motorcycles Starting at Just Ksh 10,000

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has officially announced a public auction of various boarded items, including motorcycles, vehicles, and other equipment, with prices starting from as low as Ksh 10,000. The announcement was made on July 10, 2025, and the auction will be carried out in collaboration with M/S Valley Auctioneers.

According to the auction notice reference number KWS/DC/46/2024-2025, the sales will take place on two separate days later this month. KWS has encouraged members of the public to attend and participate in the sale, highlighting that all items will be sold on an “as-is, where-is” basis.

“Kenya Wildlife Service will sell a range of items via public auction. Motorcycles priced at Ksh 10,000 and vehicles starting from Ksh 40,000 will be among the key items available,” part of the auction catalogue stated.

Auction Dates and Locations

The first auction is scheduled to take place at Tsavo East National Park in Voi on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, starting at 9:30 a.m.

The second auction will follow a few days later on Friday, July 25, 2025, and will be held at the KWS Central Workshop on Magadi Road in Nairobi, also starting at 9:30 a.m.

KWS has invited the general public to attend these events and has strongly advised interested buyers to physically inspect the listed items prior to the sale days. This inspection will help bidders understand the condition of each item before placing any bids.

Apart from vehicles and motorcycles, the auction also includes 20 tonnes of assorted scrap materials which are made up of metal, wood, porcelain, and wire. This entire scrap lot has been valued at Ksh 100,000.

The auction will also feature a large number of additional items such as:

  • 191 used motor vehicle batteries

In addition, several spare parts are available, including both new and used vehicle components like:

Many of these items have been grouped into lots, and each lot has been given a different valuation depending on quantity, condition, and type of item.

How to Participate

All interested bidders are required to follow the terms and conditions provided by the auctioneer. Those who win bids must pay promptly and collect the items within the timelines set in the auction guidelines.

KWS has made the full catalogue of items available for public viewing ahead of the auction. This catalogue contains detailed descriptions, estimated values, and quantities of all the items available. Potential buyers are encouraged to go through the list thoroughly and inspect the items in person if possible before the auction days.

This auction presents a valuable opportunity for individuals and businesses looking to purchase vehicles, spare parts, and equipment at affordable prices.
