New Application Deadline for Housing Department Internship Set to August 14, 2025

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has officially announced a change in the application deadline for the 4,000 internship positions available under the State Department for Housing and Urban Development.

According to a statement issued on July 25, the new deadline for submitting applications is now August 14, 2025, which is earlier than the previously scheduled date of September 6, 2025.

“The application deadline for the Internship Opportunities in the State Department for Housing and Urban Development has been changed to August 14, 2025,” read the statement from PSC.

The commission clarified that applicants who had already submitted their applications before the change do not need to reapply. Their earlier submissions will still be considered valid.

These internships are part of a one-year, non-renewable programme aimed at offering hands-on experience to young professionals. The 4,000 interns will actively participate in the Affordable Housing Programme and other related development initiatives across the country.

Eligible candidates are diploma or degree holders who graduated from 2018 onwards, provided their qualifications are from a recognized institution. Additionally, applicants must have basic proficiency in computer skills.

“Diploma and Degree graduates are eligible to apply. If you have already submitted your application, you do not need to apply again,” reiterated the commission.

On July 22, the PSC announced these 4,000 positions across more than 40 different professional disciplines, reflecting the government’s broad efforts to attract a diverse pool of young talent.

Some of the professional fields listed in the notice include:

  • Interior Design
  • Environmental Studies
  • Health and Safety
  • Architecture
  • Civil and Structural Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Accounting and Finance
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Digital Marketing and Data Entry
  • Communications and Branding
  • Supply Chain and Logistics
  • Building Inspection
  • Economics
  • Actuarial Science
  • Property Management

Selected candidates will be expected to carry out duties as agreed with their assigned supervisors. They will also be required to document the skills and experiences gained during the internship period, particularly in the Affordable Housing Programme and the marketing of construction sites nationwide.

In addition, interns must be ready to participate in mentorship programmes and other extra tasks that are part of the learning experience built into this internship initiative.
