Wantam Is Real! Watch How UDA Aspirant Car Was Chased Away By Gachagua Supporters In Mbeere North!!!

WANTAM is Real! Chaos as UDA Representative is Chased Away in Mbeere North

Mbeere North residents created a scene of chaos on Saturday, reportedly chasing away a car linked to a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) representative.

The incident occurred in Kanyuambora, where locals allegedly confronted the convoy chanting “Wantam! Wantam!”, a slang term widely used in Kenya to mock politicians attempting to sway voters with cash handouts.

Eyewitnesses say the crowd surrounded the vehicle, demanding the officials leave the area immediately. The tension quickly escalated, forcing security personnel to intervene and escort the car to safety.

The chants and shouting reflected widespread frustration among residents against what they perceive as “handout politics.”

UDA has responded to the incident, insisting that their campaign in Mbeere North has been peaceful. Party officials claim the allegations of violence are exaggerated and argue that some of the chaos may have been orchestrated by opponents.

UDA Secretary-General Hassan Omar described the reports as “panic-driven and full of innuendo,” emphasizing that no official UDA activities involved deliberate violence.

The party has also filed a report at the local police station, alleging that individuals from outside Mbeere North were mobilized to create unrest.

Some of these people were reportedly wearing UDA-branded T-shirts, an action UDA says is meant to falsely portray their campaign as violent.

On the other hand, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s camp has expressed concern over potential threats to its supporters in the region.

They allege that viral videos show people daring Gachagua’s campaign team not to enter certain areas, calling on law enforcement to take action against those threatening public safety.

Political analysts note that incidents like these highlight growing tensions in Kenya’s political landscape, especially as elections approach.

While chants like “Wantam!” are often a reflection of local discontent with cash-driven politics, they also underscore the deep divisions and mistrust among competing political parties.

As the political climate heats up, residents and authorities alike are being urged to maintain calm, ensure safety, and focus on constructive engagement rather than confrontation.
