CSs Make Fresh Appointments to Military and Key Government Agencies
Several Cabinet Secretaries have announced new appointments and re-appointments to important state agencies and public institutions, in a move that has reshuffled leadership across different sectors of government.
The changes come nearly a year before the next General Elections and affect departments such as defence, sports and culture, agriculture, trade, education, energy, and even the judiciary.
Changes in the Defence Sector
The latest round of appointments was led by Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, who confirmed the re-appointment of Lt. Col. (Rtd) Edward Cherop Kimosop. He will continue serving as a member of the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans for another three-year term, beginning May 2, 2026.
According to an official notice issued under the Military Veterans Act, the Defence Council exercised its legal powers to extend his term.
The notice stated that under Section 10 (2) (c) of the Act, Lt. Col. (Rtd) Kimosop would remain in office for three more years.
