Unclaimed Cars, Motorcycles, and Other Items to Be Auctioned Soon
Several auctioneers have announced plans to auction motorcycles, cars, bicycles, and electronic items that have remained unclaimed at various locations.
In a gazette notice dated February 20, Makys Auctioneers revealed that it will conduct auctions for several motorcycles, bicycles, TVs, and wheelbarrows over the next seven days.
Among the motorcycles, four burnt bikes—Dayun, Captain, and Haojin—are currently uncollected at the Gatunga Police Yard in Tharaka Nithi County.
The notice warned that if owners fail to claim their items, the uncollected goods will be disposed of through public auction. “Failure to do so will result in the disposal of the unclaimed goods by way of public auction by Makys Auctioneers on behalf of Igoji Police Station, as authorised by law,” the announcement stated.
Makys further disclosed that additional motorcycles and 14 bicycles lying unclaimed at the Igoji Police Station in Meru County will also be auctioned within the next seven days if owners do not retrieve them.
The motorcycle models scheduled for auction include Captain, Keweseki, Jincheng, Dayun, Fix, Highland, and Tiger.
Separately, Axiom East Africa Motors announced plans to auction an Isuzu Mitsubishi Fuso currently stored at its premises in Athi River, Machakos County, within the next 30 days.
The owner of the vehicle must settle all outstanding storage fees and repair costs before claiming it. If not, the vehicle will be sold either through public auction or private treaty.
The proceeds from the sale will first cover storage and any additional costs, while any remaining deficit will be legally recovered from the vehicle’s owner.
In another notice, Westbound Auctioneers said they will auction two vehicles currently lying idle at the Juakali Garages Association in Dagoretti Corner within 30 days.
Vehicle owners are required to pay for repairs, storage fees, and the cost of publishing the notice before the items can be sold, either through auction or private treaty.
Finally, Windosor House Auctioneers announced that motorcycles remaining unclaimed at the Itabua Police Station in Embu will be auctioned within the next seven days. The motorcycles to be auctioned include Captains, Boxers, and Dayun models.
The auction is being conducted under the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap 38) of Kenya, and follows the authorities granted under Misc.
Application Case No. E20 of 2026 in the Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court at Embu. The notice was addressed to all owners of motorcycles and other items lying idle and unclaimed at the station.
