Food Enthusiast Boina Clarifies Dispute with Makeup Artist Viggy

Food Enthusiast Boina Clarifies Dispute with Makeup Artist Viggy! Renowned food vlogger Boina has issued a statement addressing her recent disagreement with makeup artist Viggy Mbuthi. Boina gained fame for her videos displaying massive food intake despite petite frame. She engaged Viggy for a collaboration involving makeup looks and shared content promotion.

According to Boina, she and Viggy orally agreed the MUA would style her looks for promotional material. The posts would require Boina’s approval before publishing on agreed dates. However, Viggy allegedly shared videos and photos without consent on an unapproved day.

This violated their arrangement terms and upset Boina, who then opted not to collaborate further. She chose to pay Viggy her requested fee of KSh 3,500 instead of promoting the brand as planned. Boina clarified she provided KSh 4,000 in full settlement for Viggy’s services.

Regrettably, Viggy allegedly presented a misleading account by selectively sharing audio clips supporting her claims. This prompted Boina to set the record straight in her statement dated April 12th. She emphasized the importance of brand image and only associating with messages aligned with her values.

Moving forward, Boina pledged to obtain written contracts for all partnerships to avoid similar misunderstandings. Oral agreements leave room for ambiguity and differing interpretations of discussions. Properly documented collaborations protect both parties.

While some criticized Boina for reacting strongly, most supported her right to approve usage of likeness and determine brand representations. Lessons on agreement clarity were a takeaway for influencers and professionals working together.

Despite this hiccup, Boina remains committed to sharing her food adventures via honest vlogging. Meanwhile, Viggy can learn from handling disagreements more tactfully. With clarification provided, both can now continue pursuing their crafts constructively.

The short-lived feud highlights best practices for influencer-industry relationships in Kenya’s blossoming digital space. Communication, consent and documentation are paramount for smooth, win-win collaborations.
