President Ruto Uplifted Nation with Message of Hope for Easter

President William Ruto shared an encouraging Easter message with Kenyans as he drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and overcoming life’s challenges through perseverance.

In his address, Ruto acknowledged the economic hardships facing many due to rising costs of living and global instability exacerbated by the pandemic. He recognized feelings of frustration, suffering and deprivation among citizens. However, the President maintained a tone of hope, reminding Kenyans that no season is without tribulation but Easter signifies victory through faith and determination.

“There is no life, place or time in this world without its share of sufferings, deprivations and frustrations. The Easter message of hope does not deny the existence of heavy burdens and depressing setbacks with which we must struggle. Rather, it tells us as individuals that through discipline, combining a steadfast commitment to sound values with determined hard work, we too can triumph over adversity, transcend our challenges and find happiness, success and prosperity in our lifetime,” he stated.

Ruto specifically highlighted the trials Jesus endured leading to his crucifixion, and resurrection three days later as a symbol that through discipline and commitment to core values combined with hard work, individuals can triumph over adversity.

The Head of State further outlined several initiatives by his administration aimed at reducing poverty and improving livelihoods. These include youth empowerment programs, increased access to affordable healthcare, boosting agriculture and affordable housing construction. He was confident such efforts, coupled with citizens’ persevering spirit, would see the country overcome present economic difficulties. Ruto closed by wishing Kenyans of different faiths reflective Easter celebrations. He emphasized the need to embrace ubuntu – the spirit of community even in suffering. By pursuing shared goals of justice, dignity and opportunity for all, the President expressed optimism that Kenya would continue progressing to a brighter future.
