In a city always bustling with life, an unusual sight has captivated the attention of many both online and offline.
Why was the man walking with a hawk?
A man known as Nakuru Street Boy has been seen walking around the Central Business District (CBD) of Nairobi with a hawk perched on his head, sparking amusement and curiosity.
The hawk, named Johnson, was described by the man as his only true friend.
The unusual pair was featured in a video posted on TikTok by user @umta254_, in which the man passionately talked about his bond with the hawk.
“Haezi enda mahali. Lazma tu akae na mimi (He can’t go anywhere. He must stay with me),” he said.
Man says he hasn’t taught hawk to fly
Nakuru Street Boy explained that Johnson’s loyalty was not due to any physical harm.
He dismissed rumours that he plucked Johnson’s wings to prevent the bird from flying away.
Instead, he clarified that Johnson could not fly off simply because he had not taught the hawk to fly away.
Their presence in the CBD has become a source of fascination and entertainment for many Nairobians.
The duo has become a sensation on social media. The video featuring Nakuri and Johnson has gone viral, with many expressing their amazement at the unusual friendship.
