Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya attended this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations at Masinde Muliro Stadium despite initially claiming he was not invited Natembeya’s attendance was notable as he had alleged that some individuals at the event did not want him there due to his outspoken nature

The event saw participation from several Western Kenya region governors, including Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo (Vihiga), Paul Otuoma (Busia), and Fernandes Barasa (Kakamega) Other governors in attendance included Wisley Rotich (Elgeyo Marakwet), Jonathan Bii (Uasin Gishu), Irungu Kang’ata (Murang’a), and Simba Arati (Kisii)

Bungoma – Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya has graced this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations at the Masinde Muliro Stadium.

Why did Natembeya say he’ll miss Madaraka Day celebrations

The county chief had alleged that there were people at the event who were afraid of seeing him there.

“Some people don’t want to see me because I am telling the truth, I I haven’t said the truth. Let them come, and tell you that I am lying. It is for this reason that they have denied me an invitation to Madaraka Day, and I have not been allowed close to them,” he said.

Natembeya says he’s not a project

Elsewhere, Natembeya stated that he is not working under anyone and, therefore, not anybody’s project. The county boss stated that he’s never interacted with some of the people who are claimed to be behind his sudden rise in Western Kenya politics.

“I have heard some people say that I am someone’s project, let me tell you, I am not anyone’s project even some you mention here I don’t have thier contacts,” he stated.

The county chief has been battling Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi for what he calls a lack of productive leadership.
