The wreckage of the tuk-tuk from the scene in Makongeni indicated a nasty crash that a human would hardly survive

According to locals, the trike with four occupants rammed into a speeding passenger bus en route to Garissa

All the occupants of the tuk-tuk died on the spot; their bodies were ferried to the General Kago morgue in Thika ahead of an autopsy

A horrific crash on the Thika-Garissa Highway claimed four lives on Thursday, May 30.

A speeding bus crashed into the trike, killing its operator and three passengers, Citizen TV reported.

The deceased quartet’s bodies were ferried from the scene to the General Kago Funeral Home for identification and post-mortem.

The accident occurred days after another one in Nakuru. It happened on Saturday, May 25, in the Migaa area along the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway. Five people died.

It was around 3:30am when a 14-seater matatu collided with a truck. Confirming the incident, Nakuru County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi said the matatu was headed for Nakuru from Eldoret. Ndanyi revealed that the deceased at the scene included four women and a man.

The police boss further stated that eight people were rushed to Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital with serious injuries. He added that the bodies of the deceased had been moved to the county funeral home awaiting identification.
