MrBeast, the philanthropic powerhouse of YouTube, has clinched the coveted title of the platform’s most subscribed channel, outpacing the music giant T-Series in a historic milestone.
The American YouTuber, also known as Jimmy Donaldson announced his news on Sunday on his X account.
In his recent post, MrBeast proudly declared that he has ‘avenged’ fellow YouTuber PewDiePie, marking a significant moment in the platform’s history.
MrBeast’s YouTube empire boasts an impressive 267 million subscribers, edging past T-Series, which stands at 266 million followers.
“After six years of anticipation, we have ultimately avenged PewDiePie,” exclaimed MrBeast, marking a triumphant moment in YouTube history.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, was among the initial well-wishers to extend congratulations to MrBeast, expressing, ‘Wow, congrats!
In the previous month, MrBeast issued a challenge to the CEO of T-Series for a boxing match, coinciding with T-Series’ status as the most subscribed YouTube channel, while MrBeast was nearing the music label in subscribers.
Accompanied by a snapshot of the dwindling subscriber count on X, the 26-year-old issued a direct challenge, stating, ‘I challenge Bhushan Kumar, the Chairman and Managing Director of T-Series, to a boxing match.”
Felix Kjellberg, known as PewDiePie, a prominent figure on YouTube from Sweden, held the title of the highest-earning YouTuber globally, gaining widespread recognition for his insightful video game analyses and commentaries, even reaching a milestone where he surpassed T-Series as the most subscribed channel for a period.
In 2017, matters soured considerably when Disney chose to sever connections with PewDiePie, prompted by the discovery of Nazi references within certain videos he produced.
In 2020, PewDiePie, with his staggering 102 million subscribers, declared a hiatus from YouTube content creation.
