Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are intensifying efforts to locate 35-year-old Mary Mwende Kimwalu, a prime suspect in an attempted murder case dating back to April 22, 2023, in Mihang’o Estate, Njiru, Kayole sub-county.
The case stems from a violent altercation where Mwende allegedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend multiple times in the chest with a kitchen knife following a heated argument. After the attack, Mwende fled from Kayole, deliberately obscuring her whereabouts and cutting off all contact with family and friends.
Her evasion tactics have thwarted police attempts to apprehend her, despite the issuance of a warrant for her arrest on May 13, 2024.
Authorities have confirmed that Mwende has not left the country, suggesting she remains within Kenyan borders.
The ongoing search has prompted a public appeal for information, with the DCI urging anyone with knowledge of Mwende’s location or pertinent details to come forward. Photographs of the suspect have been circulated to aid in identification and assist the public in recognizing her.
The DCI emphasized the urgency of the matter, underscoring the potential danger posed by Mwende’s evasion of justice.
The public has been encouraged to report any sightings or relevant information to the nearest police station, DCI office, or through the #FichuakwaDCI hotline, operational 24/7.
