Honorable DP Gachagua, our nation needs financial policies that prioritize the welfare of all its citizens, not burden them with unjustifiable taxes. When we pass bills like the Finance Bill 2024, we must consider their impact on ordinary Kenyans. This is not the time to impose excessive taxes that exceed their ability to pay. The Finance Bill 2024 contains numerous problematic elements that will do more harm than good. Therefore, I cannot stand by and watch as Kenyans suffer due to unproductive legislation. I will vote NO!

It is our duty as leaders to ensure that every decision we make benefits the citizens. We cannot allow the government to impose heavy tax burdens on Kenyans without considering alternative revenue-generating methods. There are many ways to increase government revenue without harming the people. We must look at efficiency in resource use, combat corruption, and strengthen the industrial sector. By doing so, we won’t need to increase taxes on citizens. I will oppose any bills that oppress Kenyans!

When we say “We Will Not Be Manipulated Again,” we mean that we will no longer accept policies made without considering the interests of the people. The Finance Bill 2024 exemplifies how not to legislate. We need real and unbiased reforms. We will not accept being saddled with debt that we did not agree to. It is time to take a firm stand and say no to this flawed bill. I will continue to stand firm for the interests of Kenyans and ensure that their voices are heard and respected.
