Farouk Kibet, aide to President William Ruto, has called for Kenyans to exercise tolerance towards legislators who support the Finance Bill 2024. He stated that MPs have been elected and should be allowed to play their roles, as they know where the country is headed socially, politically, and economically. Farouk emphasized that MPs have the mandate to make informed decisions in Parliament through voting and other procedures, and there was no need for harassment or intimidation at public meetings.
Kibet also emphasized that President William Ruto is a caring leader who cannot ignore the views of Kenyans on the Finance Bill. He urged Kenyans, including youth, to be patient as the same Finance Bill has provisions that would help tap their potential. He urged protests by the youth to be done within the law and that those with views on the bill had various ways to contribute to the same.
Farouk said that the bill once enacted would support local industries to grow and create jobs for the youth. He noted that Kenyans were using imported goods which can easily be manufactured locally, creating jobs for the youth. Farouk urged MPs and all leaders to support the President and focus on development, cautioning Kenyans to remain united and avoid anyone who preaches tribalism. He also urged the church to pray for the President and continued stability of the country.
Farouk also urged professionals from various parts of the country to support development at the grassroots level.
