On Friday, July 5, President William Ruto’s highly publicised X space session got off on a false start
A section of Kenyans expressed frustrations after they were unable to join the conversation dubbed #engagethepresident
However, when the session started 45 minutes late, the president apologised, saying it was due to technical difficulties
Nairobi – President William Ruto has reacted after a large number of Kenyans encountered difficulties accessing X Space.
On Friday, July 5, the president was expected to host Kenyans in an interactive session starting at 2 p.m.
However, 30 minutes after the session started, a large number of Kenyans expressed frustrations with accessing the X space hosted by the president.
Why Kenyans were finding it hard to join Ruto’s X space
The space dubbed #engagethepresident was aimed at addressing key issues Kenyans are facing directly to the president.
The president had earlier welcomed people to the Space, where he apologised for Kenyans’ challenges in joining, but soon, the space went silent.
During the session, the head of state apologised, saying it was a technical hitch.
“Sorry, we had technical hitches. I want to apologise for the last hour we have not had a proper connection due to technology,” Ruto said.
How Kenyans reacted to the hitches
Kenyans took to social media, saying it was difficult for them to attend the interactive session with the president.
Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, MBS: “Can’t seem to fetch the Spaces. Is it only me?”
Mashirima Kapombe: “Is there anyone else who can’t access the Spaces by Gen Z and the president?”
“Kama hakuna space sema.”
GUSTAVO: “We don’t have the mics we can’t talk.”
Jacob Jumeow: “So, are we sitting here in silence?”
Gabriel Oguda. “Unable to fetch the president? Does it mean the president is missing?”
CLEOPHAS MATOKE: “Is there anyone else experiencing this? #EngageThePresident.”
